Living Best, in collaboration with Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR), has unveiled the Living Best Japan Gateway, a fresh initiative aimed at aiding global longevity, agetech, and health-tech firms in exploring and penetrating the Japanese market. This program facilitates the testing of solutions, forming strategic partnerships, and expanding business operations. The Gateway is set for its public debut at the Kyoto Smart City Expo, happening on October 8-9, 2026, at Keihanna Plaza. During this event, selected enterprises will have the chance to showcase their innovations, engage with Japanese corporate partners via ATR’s business-matching network, and potentially join ATR’s KGAP+ business-development accelerator, with the next cohort commencing in December.
The initiative is deeply rooted in Living City Keihanna, an innovation hub focusing on longevity, born from the synergy between ATR and Living Best. This platform aims to bridge international companies with researchers, Japanese enterprises, investors, care providers, and local communities, offering sustained support beyond mere introductions or short-term pilot endeavors. Through this initiative, Living Best will guide participating companies in gauging Japanese market demand, identifying possible implementation and funding allies, validating products with end-users, and generating evidence to support wider commercial growth.
Since 2021, Living Best has meticulously evaluated over 2,000 ventures from more than 40 nations. This extensive assessment process has yielded over 17,000 evaluations from Japanese consumers, complemented by insights from clinicians, care operators, investors, and policy experts. Dominic Carter, CEO and co-founder of Living Best, emphasized that the partnership is structured to support international companies through the entire journey of entering Japan, covering market validation, implementation, funding, and eventual expansion.
