SAKEANI JAPAN Inc. is set to introduce a unique subscription service called “Kokushu Seijo” that melds the experience of enjoying Japanese sake and shochu with the immersive storytelling of exclusive audio programs. Launching in September 2026, this service will allow subscribers to receive deliveries of these traditional beverages four times annually. Accompanying each shipment will be audio content narrated by professional voice actors, offering insights into the participating breweries, their brewing techniques, and the cultural and historical tapestry of their regions. This innovative initiative aims to enrich the drinking experience by blending education with enjoyment.

The foundation of this service is an original narrative project titled “MIZUNO MANIMANI,” which weaves a tale around a fictional water dragon deity intertwined with the spirits of Japanese breweries. An animated version of this story is also being considered, expanding the storytelling dimensions associated with the subscription. The concept was inspired by feedback from a launch event in Tokyo in December 2025, which drew around 5,800 attendees. A survey conducted with 511 of these participants revealed a strong interest in the cultural and historical contexts of Japanese sake, surpassing interest in entertainment centered around characters. More than half of those surveyed showed enthusiasm for voice actors narrating the stories of brewery histories and production processes.

Looking to broaden its horizons, SAKEANI JAPAN plans to introduce this service internationally. The company will debut it at JapanFest in Atlanta, using the platform to highlight Japanese culture alongside its traditional alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, the company is in discussions with various partners in the distribution, media, event, and entertainment sectors to support its expansion abroad. These efforts underline the company’s commitment to promoting Japanese cultural heritage through innovative and engaging means.

Established in March 2026 and based in Tokyo, SAKEANI JAPAN operates in diverse fields including event production, digital content creation, e-commerce, alcoholic beverage sales, and cultural business development. The company’s strategic approach combines its expertise in these areas to create a service that not only appeals to sake and shochu enthusiasts but also to those with an interest in the rich cultural background of these traditional Japanese beverages.
